Rudy Fraser

ASML Fellow

Rudy Fraser is a technologist and community organizer with over a decade of experience architecting IT systems and leading diverse technical teams. As a Fellow in the Applied Social Media Lab, Rudy is advancing Blacksky, a decentralized social media framework that empowers marginalized communities, particularly Black users, by providing tools for community-driven safety, data ownership, and interoperability across platforms. His work is rooted in fostering online spaces where communities can thrive without fear of harassment or data exploitation.

Beyond Blacksky, Rudy serves as a board member of Pact Collective, which promotes economic equity through decentralized financial tools, and co-founded Papertree, a platform enabling nonprofits to collaboratively manage shared funds. Rudy’s community organizing with We The People NYC focuses on mutual aid, providing hot food, clothing, and other essential resources to the communities of Harlem and Bed-Stuy. His passion lies at the intersection of technology and social impact, building systems that reflect the values and needs of the communities they serve.
